Safety First: Immunization for Kids

Safety First: Immunization for Kids

safety-first-immunization-for-kids

Vaccines play a huge role in protecting individuals from diseases and complications. They mimic the virus or bacteria that causes the disease and allow the immune system to create antibodies that protect the individual from getting infected with the virus. Individuals can get an Antibody Test to check if there are antibodies present in their blood.

Throughout the years, as more and more viruses and bacteria are discovered, more and more vaccines are produced. Vaccines are now made available in pharmacies and even in a walk-in clinic to make them accessible for all, especially children. Yes, children can get vaccinated too.

Some of the vaccinations that children are highly recommended to get include:

  • Hepatitis B

This vaccine is known to be the first “anti-cancer” vaccine since hepatitis B is the leading cause of liver cancer around the world. Immunizations for hepatitis B may be available at any local urgent care facility.

  • Rotavirus

Rotavirus is a highly contagious virus that affects millions of children. The first dose of the rotavirus must be given before a child is 15 weeks of age.

  • Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Acellular Pertussis (DTaP)

Children should acquire protection from these deadly viruses. Patients who are 7 years or older are not allowed to get immunizations for DTaP.

  • Pneumococcal Conjugate

Meningitis, blood infections, and many other pneumococcal diseases can affect children younger than 5 years old. Getting the first dose of Pneumovax can help protect them from the dangers of these diseases.

  • Influenza

Influenza, albeit has the symptoms of a common cold, poses a great threat to a child’s health. To detect the presence of the influenza virus in the body, you can get a PCR test in California.

Above Urgent Care Center is a reliable urgent care clinic providing Covid testing in Montclair, California. We offer more medical services like immunizations and physicals to keep your health in check.
